Art of Watercolour for Beginners
Start your Watercolour Journey!
This class is for beginners wanting to learn the art of painting watercolour and students with a little bit of experience in watercolour painting. Cheree you tutor will go through all the equipment needed for painting e.g. paints, paper, brushes etc. and teach you how the medium works and the many techniques you will need to make a painting. You will have fun while learning and playing with watercolour in a friendly support atmosphere.
What to bring:
- Set of watercolour paints - this can be compressed blocks (pans) or tube paints
- Colours you will need: Ultramarine Blue, Cerulean Blue, Lemon Yellow, Cadmium Yellow, Cadmium Red and Alizarin Crimson
- Paper - 300gsm watercolour paper pad
- Palette with large segmented well for mixing the watercolours and water.
- Brushes - soft round sizes 4 & 6 and a flat brush size 16
- Sketch pad (a cheap one)
- HB pencil & pencil sharpener
- Rubber
About your tutor
Cheree Connolly is an artist living and working in Sydney. After attending the Hornsby Ku-ring Gai Community College herself she has completed a Diploma of Fine Art, studied in Italy, Florence and graduated from the National Art school in Sydney with a Bachelor of Fine Art in 2017. She has a broad knowledge of art history including painting, drawing and print making. Giving her the ability to enable students to paint in many different styles and develop in their art practice.
