This course is for sewers who are confident using their machine, have done at least 1 term of Sewing Beginners or some sewing at home and want to take their sewing skills and knowledge to the next level.

This is what you will need:
- Sewing machine +
- Bobbins to fit your sewing machine
- Machine needles, universal assorted (70-90)
- Hand sewing needles (a few for basting and tacking)
- Pins (preferably glass headed)
- Pin cushion
- Scissors – 3 pairs (1 x for cutting fabric; 1 x small for snipping threads and 1 x general purpose for cutting paper patterns)
- Stitch ripper
- Sewing gauge
- Ruler (school type is fine)
- Tape measure, in both Inches and CM.
- Pencil, pen, notebook.
- Fabric markers (chalk, fabric pencil, erasable fabric marker, or similar)
- Fabric weights, (or large washers from bunnings)
- Thread to match fabric
- Paint brush for cleaning your machine
- A couple of safety pins
+We recommend using your own sewing machine for use and practice at home. However if you do not have your own sewing machine you are welcome to use one of our 2 sewing machines in the college for $25 per term (this goes towards maintenance of the machines). Please note you are unable to take the machine home.
