Tarot for Beginners - Level 1

Tarot for Beginners Level 1 is a welcoming, hands-on eight-week course designed to introduce students to the meanings for the 78 cards as well as the history, structure, symbolism, and foundational techniques of Tarot card reading.

This course is suitable for the complete beginner who has just acquired a tarot deck and wants to know how to use them, or for someone who has owned a set for a while and now wants to add further knowledge to what they have previously learnt before.

Students will be guided through the captivating origins of Tarot, beginning with a thorough examination of the deck’s two major components, the Major and Minor Arcana, students will learn how archetypes, suits, and elements inform the meanings of each card.

Each week focuses on a specific aspect: from understanding deck anatomy and card symbolism, to practicing daily draws and exploring the intuitive process of reading cards.

By the end of the term, students will have a strong grasp of Tarot’s structure, key concepts, and practical techniques, laying the groundwork for deeper exploration in future courses. The atmosphere is encouraging, supportive, and focused on growth, intuition, and personal empowerment.

COURSE OUTLINE:
•Introduction to Tarot, history of Tarot, structure of the deck (Major/Minor Arcana), setting intentions for learning Tarot.
•The Major Arcana – archetypal meaning, overview and themes.
•The Minor Arcana – structure, suits, elements, basic meanings, importance of numerology.
•Understanding symbolism – colours, images, and numbers on cards, connecting intuition with knowledge.
•Simple Tarot spreads and interpreting card combinations.

What you will need:

•Notepad and pen.
•The Rider Waite Tarot Deck OR The Radiant Rider-Waite Tarot Deck. Note you don’t need both Tarot Decks, only one. The choice is yours depending on which Tarot Deck you are drawn to.
