How to Grow a Garden
Join our 10-week program to get you out into the fresh air to learn and plant together and see our garden grow.
Our new garden bed will be planned to excite the senses through aroma, colours, shapes, textures, taste, and sound. This is a great program that will see you together with other participants out into the fresh air, rain, or shine, to work collaboratively to learn, plant and see the garden grow.
Additionally, each week the compost bins will need tending - adding more ingredients and stirring to allow the brewing of wonderful compost to help the garden.
You will work collaboratively with others to create our plot: you will learn to how to create a no-dig garden bed, design our new garden, plan the layout, and learn about how to grow your own garden. Plastic pots will be provided for you to take home cuttings and start experimenting yourself.
The garden is located at the Edgeworth David Community Garden in Hornsby.
Aimed at community members living with anxiety, depression, learning disabilities and intellectual or mental health challenges. Due to uneven terrain, please discuss with our Peer Support Coordinator should you have mobility challenges.
We are proudly delivering projects for the Peer Support and Capacity Building (PSCB) grant for the NDIS.
There is no cost to enrol.
